25 + years of teaching experience in teaching English language to international and Indian students. She has conducted several teacher training workshops in online mode for the Pune Chapter of the English Language Teachers Association of India (ELTAI), e-MELTA, etc. She has also successfully conducted a pilot project of the English Workshop for DG Shipping. In addition to this she has been conducting professional communication training sessions for the non-teaching staff and faculty at her college on a regular basis. She has also been actively involved in the syllabus design for Maritime English under the scope of ESP (English for Specific Purposes). She has developed the Technical English courses at her institute to satisfy the needs of the maritime industry. Her Ph.D. research includes “Linguistic Analysis of Language Used by the Indian Seafarers” wherein she has analyzed samples from different sources of professional communication and designed and proposed a theory of language teaching to be applied in Maritime Training Institutes in India. It can further be extended and customized for other technical and non-technical professions as well. She has also published and presented papers on the topics like Error Analysis, Material Selection and Innovative Teaching Methodologies. She has worked with the British Council and Cambridge University Press as a freelancer and conducted teacher training programmes at colleges and schools. She worked as a Co-ordinator of GESE (Graded Examination in Spoken English) conducted by Trinity College, London. She has worked as an Asst. Coordinator for the HND (Higher National Diploma) course conducted at Tolani Maritime Institute in affiliation with Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, UK. She has been working as Chairperson of “Students’ Publication Committee” at Tolani Maritime Institute for 15+ years, which publishes quarterly news bulletin “Maritimes” and yearly magazine “Reflections”. She has keen interest in guiding students for their job interviews, teaching and testing language skills, developing innovative ideas in teaching, making classes interactive and enjoyable experience for the students.

19 years of teaching experience as a Language Trainer to Indian and International Students form more than 36 different countries. I teach Language Skills, Soft-skills, and Business English. I emphasize activity-based teaching using real-life materials (aka Authentic Materials) by which students are able to carry over the language learned to real life. I am techno-savvy and use educational technologies in my classroom. I easily get connected to my students as I believe- 'teaching them is actually learning it their way'. I am sure that I do make a difference in my students' life imparting my language and life skills. I have been leading and been a decision-making part of many academic initiatives at the institute. At present, my major responsibilities are designing curriculums, developing teaching-learning materials, preparing modules for corporate clients, conducting corporate training, designing and executing curricular and co-curricular initiatives and extension programs, and so on. I am a certified Teacher Trainer by RELO in collaboration with the US embassy, America. I have been a part of the Train the Trainer Programme under the CLIL@India project where I conducted teacher training in 4 states in India. This training also included induction, training, assessment, and evaluation. I teach Business Communication, Soft Skills, and Communication Skills as core courses at the sister institutes of Symbiosis in Pune and across India. I have conducted workshops on various topics like job interviews, promotional interviews, email etiquette, Resume/CV, and cover letter writing. I have conducted webinars on the Importance of Listening Skills in Language Development. I have been associated with ELTIS as a language trainer since 2004 till date. During this time I also played the role of a Co-ordinator Corporate Training Assignments (CTA) at ELTIS from December 2016 to August 2018.
